In a trunnion bearing ball mill, the trunnion bearings move around a pinion shaft to rotate the rotating drum. The pinion shaft is connected to the motor by a flat or V-Rope drive. A wound rotor, or slip ring, is recommended for larger motors. Both types of drives have different starting torque requirements, so customers are encouraged to specify the type of motor and switch they will be using.
