How to Strengthen a Cylinder Roller Bearing

A cylinder roller bearing is one type of bearing with a spherical outside diameter. This type of bearing can adjust to the axial movement of a shaft and can tolerate installation errors. However, this type of bearing has high processing requirements and requires strict control to ensure correct deflection. However, the good news is that a cylinder roller bearing is also easily separated for disassembly or installation.

Austenite strengthening process

An austenite strengthening process can increase the life of a cylinder roller bearing by making it more resistant to wear. The strengthening process can also enhance the toughness of steel by reducing the residual austenite. However, excessive amounts of dissolved carbon in the steel can decrease its toughness and fatigue resistance. Therefore, it is important to avoid exceeding the maximum amount of dissolved carbon in the steel. The optimal amount of bas carbon content is 0.45 to 0.70%.
