How to Perform Slewing Bearing Installation
In order to install a slewing bearing, you must know the proper steps to perform it. A few important steps should be followed to ensure the best results. You should check the alignment of the bearing, including the bolts and nut. You should make sure that the slewing bearing is aligned with the axle and main shaft, and that the coupling is correctly positioned. It is important to check the backlash by looking at the topmost point of the gear pitch circle's radial run-out.
You can perform slewing bearing installation by using a seat, a suspended or vertical mounting plane. The erection support structure should be designed to meet the specifications. Make sure that there are no metal chips or weld grains on the mounting surface. You should also use structural adhesive to limit the relative displacement between the bearing and its supports. Once the slewing bearing is installed, you should make sure that the fitting plane is flat and free of excess material.
When installing a slewing bearing, the mounting bolts should be tightened in a star-shaped cross pattern. Make sure that the bolts are properly machined. The bolts should be pre-tightened to 70% of their yield strength. Be sure to keep in mind that spring washers are strictly prohibited. If you choose to use a spring washer, you should make sure that it is made from a hard material.
