Low Cost Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Deep groove ball bearings are a common component in a variety of home appliances. They are commonly found in washing machines, dryers, vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, pool pumps, computer fans, and fidget spinner toys. A ball bearing doesn't require constant lubrication, though you can extend its life by choosing the appropriate lubricant. Another benefit of ball bearings is their easy replacement.

Compared to other types of bearings, deep groove ball bearings are less likely to develop friction torque during operation. These benefits translate to a longer life for the ball bearing. This lower operating temperature means fewer failures and lower energy bills. The simplicity and reliability of deep groove ball bearings make them a popular choice for a number of applications. And with so many variations, choosing the right one is critical to maintaining a high-performance machine.

Single-row deep groove ball bearings can only compensate small angular misalignments. A double-row deep groove ball bearing has a much larger number of rolling elements and can provide higher performance. However, double-row deep groove ball bearings do not have an angular adjustment facility. Therefore, they are not suited for applications that require very fine adjustments in angular position. When comparing the various deep groove ball bearing types, choose the type of seals and lubrication that best fits your needs.

Generally, double-sealed deep groove ball bearings are factory pre-lubricated with water-resistant grease. A mineral oil-based grease, Mobil Polyrex (tm) EM, is Timken's standard grease. This grease is thickened with polyurea and protects the bearing from rust. Further, a seal with an RSR is much more effective than a single-shielded bearing.
