Construction of Precision Angular Contact Ball Bearing
There are many different components used in the construction of a precision angular contact ball bearing. These components have various characteristics, which are important to consider when choosing a bearing. Bearings have three important specifications: static radial load, dynamic radial load, and rated speed. The static radial load refers to the maximum radial load that the bearing can tolerate without deformation. The dynamic radial load, on the other hand, is a calculated constant load applied to the bearing. For example, a group of identical bearings with stationary outer rings can theoretically withstand a constant radial load during a million inner-ring revolutions.
Precision angular contact ball bearings have asymmetric races that are arranged so that axial loads can be accommodated simultaneously. As the contact angle between the ball and the races increases, the axial load carrying capacity of a bearing will increase. This contact angle is defined by the angle formed between the points of contact of the ball and the raceways in the radial plane. A large contact angle is important because it allows for more axial load to be accommodated while reducing radial load.
Precision angular contact ball bearings have an advantage over traditional bearings, because they are more suited for radial and thrust loads. These bearings have a high load carrying capacity and excellent running properties. They are easy to mount and universally compatible, reducing the axial space required for mounting.
